Core Vision
Sangam Culture Reserve emerges as a transformative intervention—a strategic repositioning of Seoul's former industrial reserve site into a thriving cultural epicenter. This project embraces its landscape as both canvas and stage, where the accumulated energy of Korean popular culture finds space to converge, create, and radiate outward to the world.
The initiative does not impose a singular narrative onto the existing site; rather, it recognizes the venue's inherent identity as a sustainable reuse of industrial heritage, allowing K-culture's diverse spectrum—from K-pop and pop art to cinema, gaming, gastronomy, and fashion—to flourish within its distinctive tank-like structures. The design of visitor experience follows the rhythm of discovery: visitors encounter immersive exhibitions, interactive installations, and dynamic performances that shift their perspective across the grounds, much as natural light transforms interior spaces throughout a day.
Content & Programming Pillars
Seven flagship intellectual properties anchor the venue's calendar:
International K-pop Cover Dance Festival: A three-day gathering targeting 50,000 participants, pursuing Guinness World Record status while generating 65-100 billion won in revenue.
Football Fever 2026: A soccer-centric art and entertainment festival launching before Korea's World Cup campaign, merging fan culture with interactive experiences across 20,000 projected visitors.
Illustrators Deathmatch (IDM): A competitive showcase of global concept artists and entertainment designers, anticipated to scale into multi-booth production by year two.
Art Toy Culture Exhibition: A platform for both international and emerging Korean toy designers, positioning collectible figures and character IP as a growth engine.
K-Star Best Dresser Award: An annual celebration of fashion across Korean culture—politics, entertainment, sports, arts—attracting 600 VIP attendees and creating licensing opportunities.
Korea-Japan Friendship Concert: A commemorative cultural bridge for the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, emphasizing soft power diplomacy through music.
Action-Thriller-Horror Movie Festival: A curated international film program celebrating Korean cinema's visceral narrative tradition.
